Section I - Behavioral Policies
1.1: Omega is a family-friendly guild. Therefore, all public forms of guild communication such as ventrilo, guild/legion chat, and the forums are to be kept PG-13. While we are understandable of slipping here and there, the officers will be diligent in upholding this rule.
1.1.1: The exception to this rule is only within the Language Lounge channels on Ventrilo.
1.2: Harrassment, flamming, or generally mistreating another person, especially a guild member, will not be tolerated. Our guild is built on respect for one another and is expected from all members.
1.3: All promotions will be handled in an in-game guild meeting and/or in a public forum update. All demotions will be handled privately between an officer and a member.
1.3.1: Demotions are handled only in extreme situations. Dropping below the promotion threshold may not result in an immediate demotion, but a prolonged decline in activity or participation or behavior will result in an eventual demotion of rank.
1.4: Participation in events is not mandatory, as we understand work, school, and life in general. However, choosing to refrain from participation within the guild without cause or reason will result in officer response.
1.5: Members must be prepared to represent the guild at all times. Ninja looting, trolling, flamming, spamming, and other such detestable actions will result in removal from the guild.
Section II - Raiding and Crusading
2.1: A member must sign up at least two days before an event in order to attend.
2.1.1: Sign-ups are managed in the guild forums.
2.1.2: Since everyone who signs up for a raid cannot always attend due to space limitations, raid spots are chosen based on what classes are needed to make a successful run, how well a member's gear is suited for the event, and based on rotation (If person A attended raids last week, we might give person B a turn this week). As much as we can, we try to give everyone an equal chance to participate in events.
2.1.3: If you need to cancel for an event you've signed up for, please contact an officer immediately or post a notice on the forums regarding your absence.
2.2: Members are expected to be online fifteen minutes before the scheduled raid time, and at the meeting location and ready to go at the scheduled raid time. The rule of thumb: If you're fifteen minutes early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. And, if you're late, you're dead.
Members being present fifteen minutes early allows us to find a replacement before the desired start time should we experience a no-show.
2.3: All participants of an event will be required to have all the required materials for that event. Required materials will be specified ahead of time.
Section III - Guild Bank
3.1: All items within the guild bank (with the exception of the "Permission Only" section) may be taken by any member at will.
3.2: If there is an item you need from the "Permission Only" section of the bank, you'll need to go through the processes of requesting the item from an officer.
3.3: All donations made to the guild bank is done on a voluntary basis.
3.4: Money within the guild bank cannot be used for personal use. This money is used for guild wide expenses such as rewards for guild events, guild materials, and other such items.
Section IV - Terms of Corrective Action
4.1: While Omega, as a guild, would rather promote good behavior through rewards, we reserve the right to take corrective measures against a member found in conflict with our policies.
4.2: As a standard rule, the leadership of Omega will give a warning to misconduct or poor behavior before guild removal or banishment from events. I think it's fair and right to give everyone a chance to recognize error and do their best to correct the problem on their own.
4.2.1: After one warning is issued for a particular behavior, the leadership does not have to give a second warning before removal. However, we may also give an infinite amount of warnings. We try to handle every case according to the individual and their individual needs. If the member has always been a good member, and they mess up twice, we will be very forgiving. If the member has always been a leech and has never contributed and messes up twice for the same thing, we might be more inclined to remove the member.
4.2.2: If the member performs several different acts of misconduct against the guild, we will remove the member when we feel that should be "the last straw".
4.2.3: Certain acts may call for immediate removal without warning. Things such as losing your temper on a guild member and chewing them out/cussing them out on ventrilo is worthy of immediate removal. Ninja looting, stealing, sabotage against another member are also examples of offenses that will not be tolerated.
4.3: Certain minor infringements may result in a suspension from events. These include, but are not limited to, showing up late for an event, signing up but never showing up, and not coming prepared for an event.
4.4: Extended and unannounced inactivity will result in removal from Omega. All members are required to make some appearance or post at least once a week.
4.4.1: If you need to leave for an extended period of time, please make sure you contact an officer or drop a post in Omega forum to let us know you'll be away. As long as you let us know and give us a date of return, you will not be removed from the guild.
4.4.2: The officers go through the roster and prune out inactives every few months, so please be diligent in making sure you don't silently "vanish".
4.5: Just because a rule is not covered in this document does not mean that it isn't punishable. I don't think my mind is capable of conjuring all the possible crimes that a person can commit. However, if a behavior or action is considered to be in conflict with Omega, it will be deliberated among the leaders, and an appropriate action will be taken.
